JDN Early Childhood Center

JDN Early Childhood Center was founded in 1922 as the Jewish Day Nursery by a group of 15 concerned activists. Their goal was to insure that children of poor women, forced to work outside the home because of dire economic necessity, would receive quality day care in a Jewish setting. Today JDN serves children of all races and religions while still teaching Jewish values and traditions.

It is open from 7:30AM to 5:30PM, Monday through Friday, year round. Extended care is available until 6:30 p.m. for an additional fee. Breakfast and snack are provided for each child in attendance. We enroll children anytime during the year, if openings are available. For fall entry, it is best to register from December through February, as our classes often fill in advance. Many children also start JDN in June and July. We welcome you to call at any time of year to inquire about available openings.

Step Up To Quality Rating
JDN is proud to have achieved a two-star rating from Step Up To Quality, Ohio's voluntary quality rating system for licensed early childhood programs. Step Up To Quality was created to improve the quality of care for Ohio's children. Step Up pays close attention to class size, staff qualifications and training, workplace characteristics (benefits and other supports for teachers), and the language and literacy development of children. This commitment to quality results in an environment where children flourish. We welcome you to experience the commitment to excellence that is JDN.
